If there’s one thing I think every woman would love, it’s to have her makeup stay on flawlessly all day long. Unfortunately, you can’t always have flawless makeup. It’s probably not going to look as flawless at the end of the day as it did at the start. However, I have some tips you can use to help it stay on for much longer:
Start With a Perfectly Clean Face
When you start with a clean face you are giving your makeup the best possible chance of staying on. Make sure you’ve cleansed, toned, and moisturised before beginning. You should keep up a good routine every day to get the best results from your makeup in the long run.
Apply a Primer
Apply a primer before you apply your foundation and it’ll not only stay on longer, but look even better too. It’s up to you which you choose; a cheaper one can do pretty much the same job as a more expensive one. However, it all depends on what suits your face. This is probably the first thing you’ll learn to do on all makeup courses.
Use the Right Tools
Using good tools to apply your makeup will make it look so much better and ensure that it stays on. Instead of just using your fingers, use good brushes and sponges to get the desired effects. It might take some practice and messing around with them, but you’ll get there after a while. It shouldn’t take you long!

Consider Higher Quality Makeup
It isn’t always the case, but most of the time using higher quality makeup will mean it stays on your face better. You don’t need to invest without knowing as much as possible about the product first – that’s what reviews are for. In the end, you shouldn’t even need to worry about spending that money.
Use Makeup to Suit Your Skin Type
Makeup to suit your skin type is really important too. If you use the wrong type of makeup, it’ll slide right off your face. It can also sink deep into the crevices of your face. Make sure you know your skin type and research makeup to suit it before buying.
Apply a Setting Spray
I used to use hair spray before setting spray. If you’re missing out this crucial step, your makeup isn’t going to last half as long! Simply spritz your finished look so you can keep all of your hard work on your face for much longer.
Don’t Touch Your Face
Finally, make a conscious effort not to touch your face. You might find it hard, but you must avoid it if you want it to last at all. Otherwise you’ll literally rub off and smudge your makeup with your fingers. You might even transfer it to clothes if you’re not careful.
