Adrian Gabriel Dumitru
Writer, Bucharest, Romania

Adrian Gabriel Dumitru began his writing journey at just 16, driven by curiosity and big dreams. Over the years, his path took unexpected turns, transforming from a pursuit of literary success to a deeply personal journey of self-therapy and philosophical reflection. Now, with tens of books to his name, Adrian shares his unique perspective on life, writing, and the process of healing through words.

Q: What inspired you to start writing your first book at 16?
A: It’s quite funny. I wrote about UFOs. It was exciting at the time, but the book got rejected, and I never published it. I even lost the manuscript later on.

Q: Can you share more about the book you began at that age?
A: That early work seems irrelevant to me today. The real importance is that it marked the start of my writing journey.

Q: How did it feel to abandon your dream of being a writer after realizing you couldn’t publish your work?
A: Annoying, honestly. But I came back to writing at 40, trying again with a book about online business success, and once more, I failed. So, I abandoned the idea again. But a few years later, I started writing essays. That’s when things really took off—66 books later, here I am.

Q: Looking back, what do you think stopped you from continuing earlier?
A: Like many writers, I expected to hit the bestseller lists on platforms like Apple Books or Amazon. But success is complicated. That expectation can stop anyone.

Q: When you started writing again 20 years later, what had changed in your approach or mindset?
A: That’s when my philosophical and spiritual journey began. It wasn’t about chasing success anymore. Writing became more personal—a form of self-therapy.
